About
Our K-12 program serves students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disabilities. We serve students at all levels of the spectrum. Programs are structured on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
The School Day
When students arrive they go to their classroom and begin with thirty minutes of daily opening activities, such as visual schedules, sensory diet, the Pledge of Allegiance, weather, and current events.
Academics, functional living skills, independent living skills, and vocational concepts are integrated into group lessons. We work well with children who have sensory integration issues and implement individualized sensory diets as needed.
Students also can receive music instruction, one individual occupational therapy session, and one individual speech therapy session per week. Students ages 16 years and older typically complete two hours of transitional and vocational training each week.
Staff
We firmly maintain low student to teacher ratios and provide each student with the support that is truly needed. Many of our students have a one-on-one aide with them at all times. All staff are trained in the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and other research based teaching methodologies.
